Hendersonville Fly Fishing Charters

Are you ready for a wilderness adventure that includes casting flies to some of the most secluded wild trout in Western North Carolina’s mountain streams ?  If so, our guides can show you some of the most breathtaking and productive streams in the Southeast.

Located outside of Ashville, NC Up-Close Outfitters has access to hundreds of streams, each with its unique angling experience.   All the streams are a little different providing a new experience for each of them. These streams are loaded with Brown, Rainbow, and Brook Trout, and our guides know exactly where these fish like to hide.

With so many streams to choose from, we offer a variety of options for your fishing adventure.  Some of the streams are stocked annually, providing a heavy stringer for the frying pan, while other more remote streams are catch and release only. Wild brook trout often reside deep in the National Forest.  A long hike into the forest can reward you with a day of catching small yet aggressive brookies that see very few presentations from other anglers. Up-Close Outfitters can provide you with trips ranging from fishing easily accessible and productive streams to the most challenging backcountry hiking and fishing trip you can imagine. It’s all up to you.

We specialize in locating wild Brook Trout, providing our clients with numerous opportunities to cast to these Trout.  This is a good option for those wanting to explore the region’s mountain scenery while fishing for these small, native trout in the backcountry.  For those targeting larger fish, the Davidson River, South Holston River, Tuckasegee River, Oconoluftee River, North Fork of Mills River and the Pigeon River all offer great fishing results.  In these rivers, you will enjoy casting to deep pools and shallows ripples with the expectation of hooking a 20-inch lunker.

Up-Close now offers a truly unique fly fishing trip to the trophy trout waters on the Cherokee Reservation.  Here you will have ample opportunities to cast to Brown and Rainbow trout that exceed 20 inches in length.  This fly fishing only section is all catch and release and is sure to supply an active day of bites.
