Brook Trout

The only native trout to North Carolina waters, Brook trout are numerous in the wild streams of the Pisgah and Nantahala National Forest.  Aggressive and lightning fast, they feel right at home in the cool mountain waters near Asheville and the Appalachian region.  You’d better be quick when dealing with brookies because they come and go fast.   A typical native Brook Trout may average just 10 inches, yet its fight will not disappoint a thrill-seeking angler.
